As part of the art project Vihtanuššan Vittnesbörd, a digital book circle will be held in the spring and autumn of 2025. Based on texts and stories related to what land and water mean for the Sami people, and furthermore what a land acknowledgement can be in Sápmi, Verdde invites persons active in Sami culture, research and theology to conversations with Erika Stöckel, the artist behind the project.
We also invite you to read the texts and listen to the conversations during three live streamed exchanges of thoughts and knowledge 17 June at 18.00–19.30, 12 August at 18.00–19.30 and 18 October at 13.15–14.00. On Saturday 18 October, the conversation will take place during the literature and art event Bok & Bild in Julevu Luleå and can also be attended on site in Lilla salen at Kulturens hus.
For the book circle's second event on Tuesday 12 August 18.00–19.30 Swedish time, the conversation will take its starting point from Geir Tore Holm’s text From Subarctic Marshlands, Kinship and the Physiology of the Brain and the Rávttásjávri luohti.

For the book circle we listen to Krister Stoor’s version of the Rávttásjávri luohti. The luohti is after Ester Pingi, 1910, and can be listened to here on the website for Verdde
The conversation will be in English and the participants are Erika Stöckel, artist, Ragnhild Nilsson, political scientist, Lea Simma, literature worker and translator, and Jalvvi Niillas Holmberg, juoigi, author and artist. The conversation will be moderated by Maria Svonni from Verdde.
